Copyright and your
virtual assistant website

Copyright and your virtual assistant website is becoming a big issue amongst virtual assistants. Quite a few VAs on a network that I belong to are talking about having their sites or parts of their sites copied.

People may simply not be aware that you can't do that when creating content for their own sites. If you do find your content copied, refer to the link I have below regarding contacting someone and asking them to remove your information from their site.

When setting up your virtual assistant website it's usual to peruse the net and view other VA's websites for ideas on how to set your site up, what information and content to include, etc. However it is very important not to actually copy information straight from their site. When I'm talking about copying from another site, I'm talking chunks of information, paragraphs and even sentences, scripts, graphics and data.

It's difficult I know as I for instance am providing so much information for prospective VAs and I am touching on niche areas that I know nothing about as well, so I have to research that area and try to inform you as best as I can in my own words and not use someone else's words.

A person can easily use sites such as www.copyscape.com to see if people have copied their information.

If I am going to use someone else's information I either quote them or ask their permission first. Simple.

Also you have to be careful if you are using the services of someone else to create your site. You must ensure that they don't copy information directly from other people's sites either.

The actual definition of a VA is an area where we can inadvertently use almost the same or even the same definition as someone else and I don't see this as a problem. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Anyway, have fun creating your website and do visit the relevant websites in your country relating to copyright and your virtual assistant website will be a winner.

There is so much information that I have not talked about or gone into on this subject. I have not gone into any information on actual copyright registration on your website and when to do it and updating it as your site grows, etc.

Below is a UK site I found, but the information listed here very informative relating to this issue:
