Wow what a claim. Well I actually use Dragon naturally speaking software, the preferred version, and I generally type at 110-120wpm and generally equal that with using the voice recognition software.
I don't use it all the time as I only use it when I'm doing transcription and some transcription files are really bad and I prefer quiet. With these files I really have to listen to the file or the accent intently and I find that I don't like to speak during these files.
I also don't use the voice recognition software when I'm tired. I can't get the words out right and the system misunderstands me, my fault as I'm just too tired to talk. I find I'm ok typing when I'm tired. This is just me though, everyone is different.
Anyway so I average about 120 wpm using the voice recognition software, because I still have to go back and amend misunderstood words, although you can train the system with every word individually along the way, but some words still are misunderstood all the time. Then new words are misunderstood, specifically names. It's person specfic though, it's just the way I say my words.
Sometimes I average higher and closer to the 160 wpm when I'm on a roll with an easy transcription file.
This is great for slow typists as your work output is increased HUGELY. I'm a fast typist, but I use this technology to save my fingers from RSI and things like that.
