Emailing Businesses Direct

by Sandra, site owner
(Sunbury, Australia)

I emailed two businesses direct who I thought I could help out with transcription work and gained one as a client within days.

I do a lot of general transciption and have become quite good at certain subject matter over the years, so I found two firms, small to medium sized businesses who I thought may need my help and drafted a professional email to them both. I thought I'd only email two for now and see if I get any feedback and was lucky to land a new client.

So emailing businesses direct that you believe you have appropriate skills to help may work. I pointed out how they would benefit by using my services, my experience in their field and how I'm self employed so they only pay my rate and that's it.

Oh and these aren't generic spam emails, they are specifically targetted emails to firms that I hand picked and researched and sent out customised emails to.

UPDATE TO THIS: The second business I emailed got back to me the next week and I have secured them as a client too. Amazing.
