Free dictation and transcription software
Always check out any free transcription software to make sure it meets your needs. The particular free platform may have everything you need, so that's great, or you may need something more, hence purchasing a dictation and/or transcription software instead. I am not endorsing any of these platforms, but merely providing these information resources to you (although I do myself use Express Scribe transcription software myself, which is free).
NCH Swift Sound has a great free transcription software platform called Express Scribe. It is user friendly and easy to install and use, and their customer service is excellent. I actually use this platform for all my transcription of audio files.
NCH Swift Sound also has dictation software for you to download and try. To download the various dictation softwares is free for 14 days or so, but after that period you must purchase a licence to use the software. Digital Dictation Version 7.5
by Legal Easy is a combined dictation and transcription software package that is FREE. No trial version, no license to purchase. On the link I've given though make sure you read the user comments. It's getting a mixed write up, good and bad. I haven't tested it myself though, so I can't comment any further.
