Free transcription templates

I have attached a pdf at the bottom of this page with some free transcription templates/layouts outlined in it.

These are the main templates that I use for most of my transcribing. Your client however may have their own templates or layouts that they would prefer you to use.

The worst thing you have to deal with is if you have a focus group and the client wants each speaker identified by name. Sometimes it can be done, but sometimes it just cannot, so in place of the name I simply write Speaker.

Oh and if you're lucky enough to get straight transcription from one speaker, just make sure you make plenty of paragraphs throughout the page.

If you are not instructed on a document heading, just use the name of the tape/audio file.

Then there is the question of fonts, margins, double/single spacing, etc that your client may prefer.

As a rule I always:

. number pages
. use default Times New Roman 12 Pitch font
. justify margins
