Home business for mums

I know there are lots of you out there trying to find a legitimate home business for mums. I was one such mum. In 2003 I found such a business opportunity and set up my own business as a virtual assistant. The virtual assistant industry is now absolutely booming!!! Simply more businesses are realising the benefits of using the services a VA.

What is a virtual assistant? A virtual assistant is an independent contractor who works from home in their own business providing all sorts of administrative tasks to other businesses.

After 18 years of regular office work I finally became a virtual assistant and I basically perform the same tasks I used to perform as a PA in the city, but now at home....and I get to work around the children. So you know how we all try to be super mums, well virtual assistants are, we get to earn our income from home and raise our children too. Right now my toddler is playing with my son's lego in his room and I am writing this web page. I don't have to leave the home, I don't get to miss out on her crazy antics in his room whilst he's at school.

So please do peruse this website and see exactly what kinds of niche areas that virtual assistants can specialise in. You will be surprised. Check them out here.

If you're intersted in transcribing work specifically or you want to be a typist from home, then visit my working from home and transcription section for so much info on all aspects of transcribing and I even list transcription companies worldwide who use the services of home based contractors.

I know how important it is to earn an income and to raise your family and being a virtual assistant helps me achieve both these goals. I simply work around the kids, work in the morning before they get up, work at night when they're asleep, on weekends when their dad can take them out, etc. Believe me I make an excellent living being a VA, and I don't have a super specialised niche either. So if I can do it, you can do it too. I too was hesitatant to start, but am so glad I had the courage to give it a go.

This IS truly the home business for mums that we've all been looking for.
