Medical transcription radiology terms

Medical transcription radiology terms are widely used in medical transcription as this is a big area of transcription.

One thing to remember is that if you as a virtual assistant are transcribing for an overseas client, to use the correct spelling of the medical term pertinent to that region.

Some medical terms can vary slightly according to British English or American English.

Some examples, to give you an idea, are:

anaesthetic (British) anesthetic (American)
tumour (British) tumor (American)
anaemia (British) anemia (American)
haematoma (British) hematoma (American)

Some great resources for dedicated radiology terms in American English

MediLexicon
is an online medical dictionary, and has a huge database of medical abbreviations as well.

British English medical terms

My Dr is an online medical dictionary in British English. So great for UK, Australian users or others needing British English.

If you are overseas and are typing for an Australian client for instance, just type in the American English word and the British English equivalent word will appear. Remember not all medical terms are different though.
