Receiving Transcription Audio

by New Virtual Assistant

I have transcribed minutes in the past. Now I would like to offer transcription for simple things. A potential client has speaking notes to be transcribed for use in a book. The information is on a 'memory chip'. How can I receive and transcribe these notes?

Thank you for any help you can offer.

Sheila

Receiving Transcription Audio

Hi by memory chip do you mean USB memory stick? If they gave you the stick then just attach that to your PC and grab the audio file off it and save it to your hard drive and then load it onto your transcription platform from there.

If you don't have the stick and the client does not have an ftp (file transfer protocol) or a set up where you can grab the file off their website, etc, then there are free websites they can use where they can transfer up to 100MB sized audio files to you and you get an email alert and then just download the file.

Or if the file is bigger than that, it's not a big fee for them to pay to transfer the file. Check out sites such as www.sendthisfile.com or www.yousendit.com, but there are plenty of others too.

Hope I've helped.
Kind regards, Sandra
