Receiving VA work requests from clients prior to business name being registered
by: Sandra, site owner

Hi thanks for your question. I suppose you can still receive offers of work, but it takes no time to register your business name. I wouldn't actually undertake any work though until I have a business properly registered.

Do talk to your accountant or seek assistance from your local government website on small business and see which way it is best for you to set up your business, ie: sole trader, Pty Ltd, etc. This is differnt to registering your business name. Also setting up businesses, business names, etc differs depending on where you are in the world.

I know it's a difficult thing at the beginning of your business, because you sometimes feel there's expenses going out to set up and nothing coming in as far as earnings. But it's not an expensive business to set up initially anyway. And these costs are business expenses anyway, which reduce your tax liability.

All the best with your VA business.

Sandra
