Transcription Contracts

by JoCarole
(Toms River, NJ, USA)

Hi, I was wondering about contracts and language. Do most transcriptionists have their clients sign a transcription contract and their own client contract?

How would I know what to language to insert in my transcription contract?

Thank you.

Transcription Contracts
by: Sandra, site owner

Well as far as signing contracts, not everyone does sign a contract, but some do. I'd say it's 50/50. For instance with some transcription companies or firms I transcribe for I simply sign confidentiality agreements with them. Others I have contracts in place.

But having your client sign a contract is a great idea, it can outline your rate of pay, your delivery time on work, when you require to be paid, clearly outlinging what work you will be undertaking for your client, etc.

If you go to this page: www.virtual-assistant-advice.com/useful_links_and_tools.html, I have a section there titled Virtual Assistant Forms and Templates. Here you can find (extremely cheaply) ready made contracts that you can use for your clients. You can tweak them to your requirements as well.

Hope this helps.
Kind regards, Sandra, site owner
