Virtual customer assistant

A virtual customer assistant works more with a focus on her client's clients. Want to read that again?

So instead of just working with your client you are the liaison between your client and his clients. This can entail any form of communication with the client's clients, be it over the phone, emailing, faxing, etc.

Some business owners are great at what they do or the product they supply, but lack in the customer service area. This is where a virtual assistant with great communication skills, both written and verbal, and genuine customer care comes in to assist businesses.

This is such a broad area and can entail a myriad of tasks according to your client's specific business, but could include answering customer complaints, customer queries, website questions, emailing information out, etc, etc.

This type of work does not suit everybody and as a result this could be just the niche service area for you as a virtual assistant.

As you will be spending lots of time on the phone, either talk to your phone provider to set up a dedicated line in your home office or set up something like Skype which allows you to make calls over the internet. Another provider is RingCentral.com . Great virtual phone (and even fax and voicemail facilities).

Virtual customer assistant work opportunities

I will list companies that outsource virtual customer service work to independent contractors.

With most of these type of jobs you will be working with customers via telephone or email to provide information on products and services, to take/cancel orders, cancel accounts and to obtain details of issues that customers may have.

I have tried to check these companies out as much as possible, but can't guarantee if they are all 100% above board.

ContractXchange
is a company that brings together independent contractors and businesses that require customer service agents or remote contact agents that work out of their home office. More companies are using the services of independent home based customer service representatives to handle overflow of calls. This is only for virtual assistants in North America.

Ecallogy
has projects available for bidding by independent contractors, I believe only in the US.

LiveOps
uses the services of US based independent contractors.

MicahTech
uses the services of US based independent contractors.

VIPDesk
uses the services of independent contractors based anywhere in the US.

Voicelog
uses the services of US based independent contractors. Also Spanish speaking and bi-lingual operators as well.

West at Home
uses independent contractors based in the US I believe.

Working Solutions
is based in the US, but contracts work out to independent contractors worldwide, however most of their work is US based.
